What is CEMU?

CEMU refers to the student chapter focused on materials science at University of the Andes.

What is meant to be a student chapter? It means that we are a group of university students supported by a much larger research society. This society is made up of a worldwide network of students with the same academic and social interests.

We are a student chapter of the MRS (Material Research Society), which is an interdisciplinary scientific community focused on the development, improvement and propagation of materials science. MRS members come from physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and engineering, the full spectrum of research in materials science. Something that we hope to expand at UniAndes.

Mission y Vision

Mission: To be a prominent student group within the academic and scientific community of the University of the Andes and Colombia in the field of materials science. Also, to be a reference in terms of science outreach in our community through exhibitions and lectures for the public.

Vision: For 2017 we expect to be an established and recognized group for the contributions made to the scientific and our University community. We also hope to be an international active group through our participation in different events abroad (MRS meetings) and national events related to Material Science.
